Israel-Premier Tech team removes “Israel” from its jerseys at the Vuelta a España

Targeted for several days by pro-Palestinian demonstrations of unprecedented scale on the roads of the Vuelta a España, the Israel-Premier Tech cycling team announced on Saturday, September 6, that it had modified its jersey for the remainder of the Vuelta – the 14th stage of which takes place Saturday between Avilés and La Farrapona. While the colors and various logos remain the same, the team of Israeli-Canadian billionaire Sylvan Adams has removed all mention of Israel from the jerseys of its seven riders still in the race.
"In order to prioritize the safety of our riders and the entire peloton, given the dangerous nature of certain events during the Vuelta, Israel-Premier Tech has provided its riders with team-branded kits for the remainder of the race," the team announced in a statement. This approach is in line with the team's recommendations, which for several months have been urging its riders not to wear "Israel" jerseys in training to avoid being targeted. "The team name remains Israel-Premier Tech, but the jersey is now in line with previous branding decisions for our vehicles and casual wear," the cycling team explained on X (ex-Twitter).
